Quinnipiac professor Dr. Lisa Burns will discuss her book "Media Relations and the Modern First Lady: From Jacqueline Kennedy to Melania Trump," which examines the communications tactics used by first ladies, the media coverage their efforts received, and the relationship between first ladies, their press secretaries, and the primarily female White House press corps assigned to cover the East Wing.
Dr. Burns is a professor of Media Studies at Quinnipiac University where she teaches classes including media history and political communication. She's published several books and articles on presidential spouses.
