Baking powder, a New England invention, revolutionized cooking and caused one of the longest, most vicious business wars in history. Based on the book "Baking Powder Wars", which was named one of the Ten Best Food Books of 2017 by the Smithsonian. 

Hamden native Linda Civitello, PhD, is an award-winning food historian and writer, and has cooked professionally. She has appeared on the BBC, on Bizarre Foods, and NPR.
