The Shoreline Jazz Quintet presents Thelonious Monk and Bill Evans: A Contrast in styles. Monk (1917-1982) wrote over 60 compositions including Round Midnight, Ruby My Dear and Well You Needn't. He was one of the great innovators in Jazz with a unique and percussive piano style. Evans (1929-1980) created his own Jazz vocabulary with a lyrical and original approach to the piano which can be heard in his compositions Waltz for Debby and Turn out the Stars.
