Program Description

Event Details

An introduction to basic vocabulary, historical precedents, and current conditions of race in our country. "A History of Race" demonstrates how race was created, maintained, and manipulated throughout U.S. history. Facilitators Aqua Drakes and Katie Burton use past/present connections to show how legacies of injustice shape systems and society in the 21st century. The program concludes with questions and discussion.

Drakes and Burton Consulting is looking to the past to help build a better future. Our tools for instituting positive change are education and facilitation: powerful strategies for promoting anti-racist action among individuals and systems. We work together with clients to build DEI capacity and imagine new possibilities for racial justice.
