Event Details

The Turtle was America's first submarine, created by David Bushnell, a graduate of Yale University, with a documented record of use in combat against an enemy vessel, on September 6, 1776 in New York City Harbor. It was piloted by Sergeant Ezra Lee from Lyme, Connecticut. This program is presented by Mark Albertson, Historical Research Editor at Army Aviation Magazine, author, adjunct faculty at Norwalk Community College and lecturer.
