Program Description

Event Details

On Pi Day 2021, 67-year-old Skip Fredericksen of New Hartford embarked on the journey of a lifetime: a 205-day thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, stretching from Amicalola Falls, Georgia to Mount Katahdin, Maine. Joined by his two daughters—trail names “Nocs” and “Zazu”—Skip, who became known on the trail as “Whitecap,” faced the physical and mental challenges of a long-distance hike as an older adventurer keeping pace with younger hikers.

In this engaging presentation, Skip shares the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of their 2,193-mile trek through a captivating slideshow, accompanied by original songs he wrote along the way. AT: The Musical is a light-hearted, honest reflection on life on the trail, filled with humor, heart, and hard-earned wisdom.
