Please join the library in welcoming North Haven's first Youth Poet Laureate, Naomi Borenstein. Naomi is a high school junior who splits her time between attending North Haven High School and studying creative writing at New Haven's Educational Center for the Arts.
During this program, Naomi will read a select group of original poems then encourage other teens to approach the mic and read a poem of their own. Family, friends, and North Haven community members are encouraged to attend.
The open mic portion of this event is reserved for teens in grades 6-12.
Teens interested in reading at this event should email a copy of their poem to our Teen Department at teen@northhavenlibrary.net in advance.
