For the month of August, we will be reading and discussing The Highway Ride by Taylor Delong. Ms. Delong will be attending the book club discussion in person!
One hundred and fifty miles separate me from my son, but no distance will deter me from driving to see him every other weekend. It’s not until we stop for dinner one random Sunday night that I meet her—Charlotte Grandy. Now I have an additional reason to look forward to the “highway ride”. But as a relationship develops, worry with all my emotional baggage, the only thing I can offer her are reasons to leave. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that goodbye is inevitable.
