Debate Topic #3: Should the U.S. voting age be lowered to from 18 to 16?
Amendment 26 of the U.S. Constitution was ratified in the early 1970s, lowering the voting age from 21 to 18. Join us for our next debate as we discuss whether this age should be lowered even further to 16 years old.
Over these next three weeks, we'll define our key terms and find research that supports each side. By our third meeting, we'll be ready to debate. Bring your thoughts and a friend!
Students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate. Registration encouraged.
