Tell Your Story: A Course in Memoir Writing

Everyone has a story to tell. Whether you want to preserve memories for grandchildren or simply look at the highs and lows of your life, this SIX WEEK course will give you an opportunity to practice the art of memoir writing. Gabriella Brand, our town's Poet Laureate, has been teaching memoir writing for over a decade, primarily in the OLLI program at the University of Connecticut. She will offer tips, suggestions, techniques, and exercises. Students will have a chance to share their work each week.

Gabriella Brand's short stories, poetry and essays have appeared in over fifty literary publications. Her travel writing can be found in The Christian Science Monitor and The Globe and Mail. A Pushcart Prize nominee, Gabriella is also the recipient of various writing awards, including the Spirit First Award. 

You must attend all sessions, as lessons build upon each other.
